Why join? What membership means for you and for our community: Commitment, Sustainability and Flourishing.

  • Dedication to this practice is a commitment to your transformation. Moving with us in a regular rhythm unlocks the wisdom of the body, clears the mind, and nurtures emotional well-being. With membership, you’re not only supporting a practice that heals—you’re prioritizing your own health and vitality.

And that’s just the beginning. Dance has now been shown to have a profound impact on depression and anxiety. The practice nurtures creativity, enhances confidence, and strengthens the mind-body connection, making it a powerful tool for personal growth. By becoming a member, you’re prioritizing your physical, mental, and emotional well-being while contributing to a collective practice of healing and joy.

  • We can’t do this without you. This membership is a call for support with sustaining us through the many costs and resources it takes to take our collective from the edge of surviving to thriving. Your membership helps us build a strong foundation, covering essentials like venue costs, quality sound systems, and fair pay for our talented teachers and artists. When you become a member, you’re investing in a sustainable future for this vibrant community and all the opportunities it holds.

  • We dance for times like these. Moving together reminds us of our interconnectedness, inviting inclusion and belonging in a world that so often feels divided. This ritual strengthens our capacity to journey forward together, embodied and whole. Let’s dance like our evolution depends on it—because it just might. With your membership, you’re helping us weave a flourishing future for ourselves, our community, and the planet we call home.

There's a remedy in the practice of communal dance that at its core teaches us to move together on this journey. Where hierarchical structures enforce separation and exclusion, dance ritual brings an experience of inclusion and wholeness. All are welcome to join the music and dance.

Welcome to Dallas Movement Collective

Offerings

  • A weekly soulful gathering of intentional movement with a live DJ.

Hosted in the warm + welcoming Owen Wood Farm & Neighborhood Space.

  • A once/month evening experience with a curated DJ set, live musicians, and artistic collaborations. Hosted in the historic Sammons Center for the Arts.

  • The 360 Emergence is a guided embodiment practice that is an excellent space for those looking for more support and guidance in their journey.

Designed for all levels, The 360 Emergence offers a movement map that is a journey of discovery, healing, and actualization.

  • Live Wire is an embodied ritual theatre practice, grounded in the 5Rhythms®, devoted to the shapeshifting nature of art, and guided by the vision of Lorca Simons and Gabrielle Roth. Designed to inspire, refresh, and connect, the work includes movement, creative storytelling, and expressive arts.

  • The practice of the 5Rhythms is said by Gabrielle Roth to put the body in motion in order to still the mind. The five rhythms (in order) are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. The 5Rhythms, when danced in sequence, are known as a "Wave."

  • A once/month ecstatic dance container cultivated for femmes and thems. Hosted in the Arts Mission Oak Cliff Sanctuary.

  • Esctatic Dance in an invitation for Black, Indigenous and People Of Color in the DFW area. Explore your bodies inherent wisdom and need for expression in a safe space. Let's co-create a sanctuary and playground on the dance floor!

  • Intentionally crafted events with luminary guest artists.

We are a multi-generational community that celebrates diversity, welcoming people from various cultural, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

FAQ

  • Come wearing movement-friendly clothing that helps you feel comfortable in your own skin. Layers are helpful!

Pack a full water bottle and any personal care items.

An open and curious mind is invited!

Please leave any unneeded items and strong scents outside of the space.

  • This movement is for everyone. No experience is necessary. Being human + having a body is your preparation.

Participants are invited to simply be themselves. This free-form movement is an opportunity to practice authentic expression. There's no wrong way to experience it, but always remember to respect others and seek consent in your interactions.

  • Yes! We are a multi-generational community. The presence of children is celebrated and those under 12 always dance for free. We ask that parents remain responsible for their children’s actions and behavior at all times.

Note: This excludes workshops, labs and immersions.

  • Ideally, all participants are a part of the opening and closing of events. For first timers, we feel it is necessary to attend the opening and closing circle to fully embrace and understand the practice. For regular attendees, the occasional need to arrive late and/or leave early is understandable.

  • We welcome proactive and prompt communication, the respectful questioning of leadership, and all other forms of inquiry. Please feel free to reach out through our contact page.

  • Much like any event where tickets are sold - we're not able to offer a refund. However, you are welcome to sell or gift your ticket on our Facebook Community page!

Healing is movement. If you put the body in motion, you will change.
