Why join? What membership means for you and for our community: Commitment, Sustainability and Flourishing.

  • Dedication to this practice is a commitment to your transformation. Moving with us in a regular rhythm unlocks the wisdom of the body, clears the mind, and nurtures emotional well-being. With membership, you’re not only supporting a practice that heals—you’re prioritizing your own health and vitality.

And that’s just the beginning. Dance has now been shown to have a profound impact on depression and anxiety. The practice nurtures creativity, enhances confidence, and strengthens the mind-body connection, making it a powerful tool for personal growth. By becoming a member, you’re prioritizing your physical, mental, and emotional well-being while contributing to a collective practice of healing and joy.

  • We can’t do this without you. This membership is a call for support with sustaining us through the many costs and resources it takes to take our collective from the edge of surviving to thriving. Your membership helps us build a strong foundation, covering essentials like venue costs, quality sound systems, and fair pay for our talented teachers and artists. When you become a member, you’re investing in a sustainable future for this vibrant community and all the opportunities it holds.

  • We dance for times like these. Moving together reminds us of our interconnectedness, inviting inclusion and belonging in a world that so often feels divided. This ritual strengthens our capacity to journey forward together, embodied and whole. Let’s dance like our evolution depends on it—because it just might. With your membership, you’re helping us weave a flourishing future for ourselves, our community, and the planet we call home.

There's a remedy in the practice of communal dance that at its core teaches us to move together on this journey. Where hierarchical structures enforce separation and exclusion, dance ritual brings an experience of inclusion and wholeness. All are welcome to join the music and dance.

Welcome to Dallas Movement Collective

Whether you are a seasoned dancer or a newcomer to movement practices, Dallas Movement Collective welcomes to this transformative journey — where movement, community, and individual + collective embodied learning converge.

Offerings

  • A weekly soulful gathering of intentional movement with a live DJ. Hosted in the warm + welcoming Owen Wood Farm & Neighborhood Space.

  • A once a month evening experience with curated live musicians, guest artists, and cross-creative collaborations. Hosted in the historic Sammons Center for the Arts.

  • A guided embodiment practice based on free-form + spirit-driven movement practice. A welcome home to sanctuary — the body. This class setting is an excellent space for those looking for more support and guidance in their journey. Designed for all levels.

  • Live Wire is an embodied ritual theatre investigation, grounded in the movement maps of 5Rhythms®, devoted to the shapeshifting nature of physical art, and guided by the vision of Lorca Simons and Gabrielle Roth. Designed to inspire, refresh, re-set and connect. Our time will include movement, creative excavations, collective truth-telling and beauty-making.

  • The practice of the 5Rhythms is said by Gabrielle Roth to put the body in motion in order to still the mind. The five rhythms (in order) are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness. The 5Rhythms, when danced in sequence, are known as a "Wave."

  • A once/month container cultivated for femmes and thems. Hosted in the Arts Mission Oak Cliff Sanctuary.

  • A movement space held by the BIPOC community, for the BIPOC community.

  • Intentional productions hosting international guest artists and touring musicians.
